In the heart of Scudellate, Osteria Manciana is a place where the gastronomic traditions of the Muggio Valley come to life through authentic flavours and locally sourced ingredients.
Here, time-honoured recipes are honoured with simplicity and care, offering a culinary experience that celebrates the territory and its finest products.
The warm and welcoming atmosphere reflects the very essence of the osteria: a place where the joy of conviviality meets the quality of zero-kilometre ingredients, carefully selected to guarantee freshness and authenticity.
From the intimate and homely indoor spaces to the panoramic terrace overlooking the valley, every detail is designed to offer guests an authentic and relaxed experience.
Perfect for those wishing to rediscover the true flavours of traditional cuisine, Osteria Manciana invites you on a gastronomic journey through the heart of Mendrisiotto, between nature, history, and good food.
The tradition of typical local dishes lives on through family recipes passed down through generations, such as the famous osso buco with polenta by Piera.
Authentic and genuine flavours await you in a typical, welcoming setting, where every dish tells the story and soul of the territory.
We have selected a variety of wines from the Mendrisiotto region, showcasing different local wineries.
While Merlot remains the undisputed star, our list also features refined blends and barrel-aged wines, enhancing their bouquet and complexity.
You will also find selected labels from neighbouring Italy, including the prestigious Barbaresco and the characteristic Sangiovese.
To complete the offering, we propose Prosecco and classic-method sparkling wines (Champagne), along with our artisan grappas and nocino liqueurs to sweeten your evenings.
The osteria’s name pays tribute to the Manciana family name, that of Nonna Agnese, who has been managing the inn since the 1950s.
She took over from her mother Giuditta, who had started the business in the 1930s.
From 1970 to today, Piera, Agnese’s daughter-in-law, has contributed first by helping run the osteria, and later by managing it, cooking for thousands of guests, always welcoming them with a smile.
The famous osso buco with polenta by Piera remains a celebrated specialty, a secret recipe passed down now through four generations.
