Alpe di Caviano, owned by the Patriziato of Castel San Pietro, is a haven of tranquillity immersed in nature. It is accessible on foot or by bicycle from Castel San Pietro via the mule track that climbs from Obino, or by following the agricultural-forest road that winds down from Bellavista on Monte Generoso.
Completely renovated, the building is now a welcoming and modern mountain lodge, thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of groups, families, and hiking couples. On the ground floor, guests will find a room adapted for people with disabilities and a cosy restaurant with a rustic charm with 30 seats.
The first floor features five double rooms with shared facilities and a charming terrace, perfect for moments of relaxation with breathtaking views. The second floor hosts a spacious attic with ten comfortable single beds and shared bathrooms, ideal for hiking groups and mountain lovers.
The large panoramic terrace overlooks a spectacular landscape that stretches all the way to the Alps. Here, immersion in nature is total, a place to disconnect and reconnect with yourself and your surroundings.
Nadia Vanini grew up in the Valle di Muggio and trained in tourism. She discovered her true vocation in the mountain huts of CAS Ticino, where she learned that hospitality means, above all, making every guest feel at home.
Vlastimil Ferko comes from the Czech Republic and has been working in hospitality for many years. After a journey that led him to fine dining kitchens in Austria, he chose to dedicate himself fully to cooking, combining technique, tradition and a deep respect for ingredients.
At Alpe di Caviano, they decided to bring their dream to life: living and working in the mountains while showcasing Ticino producers, local wines and seasonal ingredients.
The lodge offers a relaxing atmosphere with panoramic views over the Po Valley and the Alps. The main building opens onto a large meadow, where wild animals graze freely. The view is spectacular at sunrise and idyllic at sunset—an ideal setting for those who wish to savour moments of serenity and reflection.
Monte Generoso is one of the most scenic mountains in Ticino, and Alpe di Caviano is the ideal destination for hiking and nature-based stays. It can be reached on foot or by mountain bike from Castel San Pietro or Bellavista. The area rewards visitors with panoramic views and unforgettable experiences immersed in the natural world.
The culinary offering includes a delicious three-course dinner and a hearty breakfast, served until 9:30 a.m. on the panoramic terrace or in the indoor dining room.

Alpe di Caviano can only be reached on foot or by mountain bike. You can start from Castel San Pietro, following the mule track that climbs up from Obino (approx. 1h15 walk), or take the agricultural and forest road that winds up from Bellavista, on Monte Generoso.
